The world's longest and steepest rope tow.
Heritage Express at Ski Roundhill, New Zealand.
The Heritage Express rope tow provides an exhilarating high speed tow straight up a black diamond face and once at the top you are treated with some of the most stunning views in New Zealand as beautiful Lake Tekapo is laid out before you. From the Summit of "The Wall", Roundhill boasts the most lift served vertical in all of Australasia (New Zealand and Australia) at 783 meters (2,569ft).
Welcome to "The Wall". Not your average rope tow. The Heritage Express rope tow at New Zealand's Ski Roundhill is a lift unlike any other in the world. The Heritage Express is what's affectionately known as a "nutcracker" because of the nutcracker shaped gripper that is used to attach yourself to the tow rope via a waist harness so that the rope may pass through sheaves on it's way to the summit while protecting your hands.
