THEY'VE GOT THE FORMULA: You've heard of H2O, the formula for water. Well their is a little twist to that formula "WH20" and it creates the perfect light and fluffy powder as only Whitewater can deliver. Clocking in at 472 inches (1200cm) per season, Nature delivers the goods to Whitewater generously and often.

IT HAS A FRIENDLY COMMUNITY ENVIRONMENT: Canadian friendliness and the vibrant spirit of a close knit mountain community really shine through at Whitewater. The quaint lodge full of helpful staffers is a great place to not only warm your body, but also warm your heart with the true sense of family and ski culture.

IT'S ON THE POWDER HIGHWAY: The infamous loop in Southeast British Columbia that boasts some of the best and most reliable snow quality and quantity on the continent. Among big names like Red Mt, Revelstoke, and Fernie, Whitewater proudly holds their own and is a must stop while traversing the Powder Highway.

THEY'RE ON THE POWDER ALLIANCE: One season pass at any of these 19 resorts will get you 3 free days at all of the others (barring holiday blackout periods) and presents many options for some epic road trip action. The Powder Alliance resorts are known for having great local vibes, epic terrain and fun atmosphere, and Whitewater leads the way in these aspects.

THE FOOD IS INSANELY GOOD: Coal Oil Johnny's Bar, Restaurant and Café on the top floor of Whitewater's main lodge has one of the best mountain menu's we have ever seen at a ski resort, and for decent prices too! With adequate portions and many healthy options, it's impossible to be disappointed here.

THE GLADES ARE AMAZING: Good pitch, well spaced trees, and sparse brush make for some epic tree skiing at Whitewater. Glades are plentiful here and can be found off of all 3 chair lifts. A deep powder day in the trees here is truly a special treat.

THE VIEWS ARE AMAZING: That is, on the rare days that it ever stops snowing! In the shadow of Ymir Mountain and surrounded by the stunning Selkirk Mountains, when the snow eases off, and the clouds break you can truly see the Winter wonderland that is all around you.

THE NEARBY TOWN OF NELSON IS REALLY FUN: Great shopping, and a good selection of bars and restaurants adorn Nelson's mellow main street and just down the hill more options can be found near the river front which makes Nelson a fun place to walk around, explore and apres after a long day on the slopes. Nelson is Whitewater's nearest town and lies only 20mins from the ski resort base.

NO CROWDS: Whitewater is not a mega resort! That means lift lines, crowded trails, and expensive lift tickets don't exist here. No need to wait in line for your next powder run, the size of Whitewater really spreads out the patrons, and there's usually plenty of powder to share.

IT'S JUST THE RIGHT SIZE: With 2,044 feet (623m) of vertical spread over 1184 acres (479ha) of lift served terrain and another 1,183 acres of accessible backcountry, Whitewater has just enough terrain to keep you exploring all day, but isn't so big that you'll get lost or turned around. 3 well placed chair lifts are all you need here, or strap 'em on your back and go for a quick hike.
